The Hydrosposh water system is very cost effective stating at around $25 for 5 units. Check out the Hydrosoph website, the economical watering system for trees.

The Eco Bag water saving device is an automatic watering system consisting of a plastic container which drips water into the roots of a shrub or tree over a long period. The bag holds 20 litres of water and its capillary wick will drip one litre of water every 24 hours. Made from special heavy duty UV-treated plastic, the bag gives coverage of half a square meter around the base of the plant. Its ability to save water by reducing soil moisture evaporation losses and prevention of weeds from competing for water at the base of the plant is a big plus for the Eco Bag.
